Verdict

LORD WISHES is regarded as an exciting prospect for hurdling and had already schooled last season when completing a double under a penalty in a Haydock bumper. James Ewart has found him a nice opening and he can make a winning start to his new career. Shanen won bumpers at Sedgefield and Perth in May and made a promising start over timber when a close third to Bonnie Burnett at Ayr. More was expected of him that day as he started odds-on but the experience will have put him straight for this. Kane River had shown a glimmer of promise in Ireland but pulled up at Sedgefield last month and makes his debut for new connections. Woodpole Academy was beaten eight lengths in a Worcester bumper on his racecourse debut but he'll have come on for the run and is definitely one to note.
