Champagne Platinum will not find this easy under a penalty despite comfortably landing the odds on his debut under Rules at Newcastle. The Tartan Spartan won a Listed race in Ireland on the Flat and Reverend Jacobs was a strong stayer on the level and looks sure to win races over timber. Percy's Word and Western Duke are other recruits from the Flat worth a market checks but we’ll take a chance on TWIN STAR, who hails from a yard with a good strike-rate here. The Tagula gelding wasn’t over-raced on the Flat and won over an extended 1m5f on soft going at Chester in September. He should have no problem with either ground or trip and the booking of Richard Johnson catches the eye.
