Verdict

BAREND BOY made a winning start in handicaps with an impressive three-length success on the Turf course at Lingfield last week. An apprentice’s allowance negates most of a penalty and Hugo Palmer’s charge is taken to land a quick double. Leading Spirit showed a modicum of improvement in novice company and has been gelded since last month’s fourth at Windsor but Blyton disappointed in a handicap at York recently and headgear is applied. The remainder make even less appeal with Double Quick perhaps best of them.
