Mackaar has been keeping better company than this but it was still a poor effort over 1m2f here last month and he attempts this longer trip for the first time. Saroog went close on last year’s reappearance though both of his later wins came over 1m6f while Get Back Get Back has struggled since scoring at Doncaster in April. Perfect Illusion finished runner-up in a lower grade at Brighton recently but INFRASTRUCTURE (NAP) finished a close-up fourth in a tougher handicap than this over 1m2f at Newmarket on his reappearance. He’ll be sharper today and Martyn Meade’s charge is fancied to make a bold bid back over his winning trip.
