Verdict

Vegas Rebel won in soft going last time but this is much tougher than a maiden race at Brighton. There was cut in the ground when HATCHET HARRY won at Windsor earlier and he's a tentative selection after finishing second in better company at Chester on his latest start. Showing Character and St Brelades Bay can be given a chance if handling the slower surface and jockey bookings suggest the latter is preferred to Grenade. Billyoakes went close at Wolverhampton last week but maiden winners Inniscastle Lad and Pillar Box have yet to threaten in handicaps.
