In depth

Verdict

There are a number in with chances in the hunter chase but preference is for Red Brook Lad; Gielgud and Millenium Way also hold chances. Red Brook Lad is seeking his fourth-consecutive win and won this race last year (but bear in mind that he was also down to run at Ludlow on Thursday). He comes here in good heart and will not be inconvenienced by the drying conditions. Of the others, Gielgud was a good second behind Telemoss at Bangor in February when making his debut in a hunter chase. Based on his chasing ability, he clearly has the class to win one of these events but may find one too good for him today. Full Minty fell at the second last when travelling sweetly at Huntingdon last time out. That was his first appearance on a racecourse in over two years and he is entitled to go close today based on the best of his chasing form; however, Red Brook Lad is our selection in the hunter chase.
