A huge field for a maiden that usually produces a decent winner. Brianstorm is probably the one to beat on his second at Leicester but Kempton third Potterman is another likely improver. Shillingsworth will be interesting when tackling handicaps but Lost History won on the Flat and showed promise at Lingfield. Nicky Henderson, who won this with Josses Hill in 2013, saddles two. Pacific De Baune was second in a point-to-point in March won by a subsequent hurdles winner but DOUX PRETENDER may have more speed. A 190,000 euros half-brother to two winners in France, he was fourth under a penalty in a Huntingdon bumper in March that’s working out well and will have had plenty of schooling.
