Three-year-olds and light weights have a good record in this which points to a big run from Laurence, who has been raised 7lb for his victory in a handicap at this level at Beverley but gets in with a 5lb penalty. What About Carlo took advantage of very testing ground to score at Epsom and is another with a penalty while the lightly-raced Field Of Fame showed fair form at this level before dropping down to a Class 3 handicap at Newmarket and winning nicely. Top Tug looked like winning at this trip at York last time but he didn't stay the extra quarter-mile and connections won't be pleased with a 4lb rise. Cymro has won three times, all on soft ground, but has had to drop into Class 3 company to do so unlike NOBLE GIFT, who has won at this level, won't mind the conditions and has Callum Shepherd's claim to aid his cause so gets the vote.
