Some decent sorts here with GABRIAL THE GREAT getting the nod for Luca Cumani. Things didn't work out for him last time in a messy affair at Pontefract but previous efforts this term make him the one to beat. He ran very well when fourth behind Highland Castle in a Class 2 Newmarket handicap over 1m4f, looking as if he would appreciate the drop to 1m2f, whilst his seasonal reappearance run when third to Clon Brulee in the Zetland Gold Cup over that trip rates the best single piece of form on offer. Lord Ofthe Shadows has been running really consistently in good-quality handicaps and will surely get his head in front soon. He's a strong danger. Ruscello has been involved in some decent contests this term and a couple of those runs see him onto the short-list off a fair mark under William Buick.
