Verdict

With all of the five runners in this conditions race having their first start of the season the betting market may provide the best guide to the outcome. John Gosden's horses were in good form at Newmarket earlier in the week so it would be no surprise to see his representative Proven step up on his debut success at Doncaster in October. Henry Cecil had his first winner of the season at the Craven meeting so with ground conditions to suit Sparkling Water should be thereabouts while Miss Corniche looked a filly worth following this term when winning her final start at Yarmouth. Shot To Fame and Stage By Stage would both prefer rain.
