In depth

Verdict

This is easily the most competitive race on today’s card. David Pipe runs two with Tom Scudamore preferring Herbert Park to the returning Rathlin Rose, though the yard remains out of form. Nigel Twiston-Davies’ string is in good nick but this looks too far for Little Jon. Brandon Hill has been raised 7lb for winning at Warwick and looks to have something to find with Pearl Swan on collateral form. Audacious Plan is getting no nearer and is still 10lb higher than for his last win so the vote goes to POTTERS CORNER (NAP). Paul Morgan has booked Davy Russell for his unexposed seven-year-old, who has shown distinct signs of promise in both starts over the larger obstacles. Monbeg Gold was only beaten half-a-length by More Buck’s at Fontwell in November but turned in a shocker over this track and trip next time.
