Verdict

Fly Haaf has shown steady improvement but has only raced on Polytrack, though there's no reason he shouldn't be suited by Turf. Balmoral Castle won at Goodwood then over this course and distance before returning here with a very moderate effort. That wasn't his true form and, if back to his best, he'll take some beating. Malih has been running quite well without finding the necessary finishing burst but Fluctuation is best on Fibresand while Hector's Chance is another whose best form is on Polytrack. TARO TYWOD won a minor handicap at Bath then ran very well when just beaten at Redcar. He spread a plate at Pontefract last week so that run should be ignored and this looks a fair opportunity to get back on the winning trail.
