Verdict

Captain Cardington won at Sandown early last month but could make no impression under a penalty at Kempton subsequently and, though this is a lesser contest, he may struggle to give weight away here to one or two potentially promising newcomers. Seventh Sign won three times on the Flat last year for Tommy Carmody and is now with Alan King while Trend Is My Friend won a Sandown handicap over 1m2f last July. But we're going to take a chance on the unraced VEAUCE DE SIVOLA, who has a cracking NH pedigree and represents a yard that has done well with similar types in the past.
