      Verdict

      EAGLE TOP failed to win last term but a nose defeat by Postponed in the King George at Ascot is easily the best form on offer. John Gosden’s charge is clear of the opposition on these terms and can get his head back in front at last. Ayrad is next best at the weights and ran well in a Group 3 at Sandown on his reappearance but Star Storm may improve past him this year. The latter won the Cumberland Lodge at Ascot last season and also has a recent outing under his belt. Astronereus is a smart handicapper while Ryan Moore’s presence on the progressive Carnachy takes the eye with the latter notching up a Listed success at Goodwood on her return to action.
