Verdict
This looks likely to go to a newcomer given the two runners with experience both finished last on their debuts. Richard Hannon has won four of the last eight renewals with the likes of Major Cadeaux, Canford Cliffs and Strong Suit, who all turned out high-class performers, so it's fair to assume TRUMPET MAJOR has shown plenty at home. The presence of Richard Hughes suggests he's preferred to stablemates Poole Harbour and Jacob Cats. St Barths could prove the speedier of Brian Meehan's duo and Space Raider may come out best of the Barry Hills' pair but Forest Row, a half-brother to Presvis, may need further to show his best. Macdonald Mor and Verge are related to winning sprinters and look others to note.
