Luca Cumani has won this twice in recent years but Poplin will need to improve to take a hand as she looked one-paced behind Beatrice Aurora at Goodwood when Imperial Pippin, who had won over this C&D previously, was just in front of her. Godolphin run both RUMH and the Nottingham debut winner Gracefield with preference very much for the former. Frankie Dettori's mount couldn't quite handle Izzi Top and Dancing Rain at this level here last month but the runner-up could hardly have done better to boost the form by taking the Oaks last week. Sir Mark Prescott won this in 2003 and doesn't run his horses out of their league so the presence of Wolverhampton winner Albaraka is interesting as this superbly-bred filly looks the type to go on to much better things.
