In depth

Verdict

Royaume Uni has been more consistent this season and his yard sent out the winner of this 12 months ago. Rainyday Woman wasn’t suited by heavy going at Lingfield and is much better than that but a further 8lb rise may have put paid to Punctuation’s hopes of a hat-trick. FRERE D’ARMES was a bit out of his depth in a Grade 2 at Kempton last time but had won well at Huntingdon and Wincanton earlier and a mark of 122 looks workable. Surrey Quest is also eased in grade and looks a better bet than Taunton maiden winner Mister Marbles with Nathan Brennan taking off 7lb.
