Jacks Craic ran respectably at Southwell last time but John Spearing's gelding is probably a shade high in the weights at present and may be booked for a place at best and a chance is taken with Pardishar, with Made In Montot rated the best of the rest. Several of these finished behind Jacks Craic at Southwell last time, with Launde close up in fifth and Mr Prickle not disgraced in sixth place. The last mentioned is less exposed than most of these and is not without a chance although more solid claims are probably held by the Paul Nicholls-trained Made In Montot. The French-bred import has yet to show his best form on ground this soft though and he may be best left out of calculations on this surface. The vote then goes to Pardishar, who goes under testing ground and is likely to improve on previous form this term now that the yard of Gray Moore is back among the winners.
