Yet another huge field of maidens and probably the trickiest of them all to fathom. Up The Beat looked a real stayer in the making when outpaced by Marlay Park over 2m6f at Thurles and could just find this on the short side, a remark that also applies to Cootamundra, who ran his best race to date when stepped up to 2m7f last time. Lord Rudi ran well behind Crash over 2m6f on very heavy ground at Thurles so today's conditions will hold no terrors while winning bumper VICS CANVAS looked a progressive type with a fine run behind subsequent easy winner Good Time Donie at Down Royal, form that could be good enough here. One major fly in the ointment, however, is the presence of Last Instalment, having his first run since turning a Fairyhouse bumper into a procession last April. Philip Fenton's charge had previously landed a point at Lemonfield so hurdling shouldn't be a problem and he could be anything.
