LAKE MCKENZIE is by Australia out of a winning miler and cost 380,000gns. He's making a belated debut in a race that shouldn't take much winning so can make a successful start. Pienta is the pick on his Flat and hurdles form, especially his second behind Ballydoyle's King Pellinor on heavy going at Gowran last week, so looks the one to take advantage if the selection doesn't come up to scratch. The filly Tidal Action was third in that latter event but wasn't given a hard time and there should be little between the pair. It's difficult to see anything else winning though Born By The Sea scored over hurdles at Killarney in August.
