In depth

Verdict

Stowree Bud showed nothing between the flags but made a promising start over timber behind Fourth Class at Thurles and should have gained plenty from the experience. That was over 2m and the longer trip should suit but KING OF THE REFS, who started odds-on favourite and could only finish third, is surely better than that and is taken to bounce back. His two earlier runs over today's trip were much better form and compensation awaits. Rear View has been making steady progress though his best effort was over the minimum trip at Leopardstown last month. Go All The Way had run at Grade 1 level in bumpers and was well backed to make a winning start over timber at Thurles but fluffed his lines in the heavy ground.
