Brian Ellison has an excellent record with his runners in Ireland so the presence of NIETZSCHE is interesting. Already the winner of seven races, including three over hurdles, he had a pipe-opener at Doncaster last month, his first start since narrowly beaten in the Fred Winter at Cheltenham in March, and will have been prepared for this. Ted Veale was also racing over a trip too short last time but managed to win a tough handicap and should go well despite a 6lb rise. Abyssinian has his first start in a handicap after completing a double but wouldn't be running here unless though capable of producing the goods while Lord Erskine would have a chance if the ground turns testing and Lucca beat a huge field over 1m6f here last time and can make his presence felt. Gustavus Vassa has been bought for hurdling and moved to Willie Mullins so has to be noted with a feather weight while Artful Artist wasn't beaten very far in this at the Curragh a year ago and it's about time he was winning again.
