Aidan O’Brien and Dermot Weld have taken it in turns winning the six previous renewals of this Oaks trial. The former runs three including last week’s Ribblesdale fourth, Athena, who finished in front of Sizzling at Ascot. Easter Lily, however, never figured in a Group 3 at Cork last time. Dermot Weld sends Hasimiyya and ROMIYNA with the latter the obvious first choice having made a winning start at Gowran. She beat little on that occasion but scored by six lengths and looks a smart filly in the making. Espere remains unbeaten and is worth a try at this higher level but Mary Tudor disappointed dropped back to a mile last time having won a Listed contest over today’s trip at Navan earlier. Scriobh Nua and Tissiak are maiden winners with the former preferred while Samasthiti may do better today racing on fast ground for the first time.
