Verdict

Winning bumper CUT THE ROPE made a promising hurdling debut in heavy ground at Limerick and would have finished second to a smart recruit at Gowran but for falling at the last. After landing a Gowran bumper on his debut, D Art D Art went to Cheltenham for the championship event but was well beaten. Elusive Prince scored between the flags in May and looked in need of the experience on his hurdling bow at Punchestown while Fenway Park should also have come on markedly for his run at Cork where he had Glen Kiln, subsequently runner-up at Limerick, just behind. The latter form was boosted when the runner-up won easily on Saturday. Will Wilde made all to land a Sligo bumper while Quai De Bourbon will attract attention after his fourth at Auteuil though that looked a moderate contest. Grooveykindoflove is a newcomer to keep an eye on.
