Verdict

It’s almost two years since ERIC BLOODAXE burst onto the scene with a victory over the top-class Ferny Hollow in a Fairyhouse bumper. He had a long lay-off due to injury before a very respectable fourth in the championship bumper at Punchestown in April and looks a top recruit to hurdling. Highland Charge won a Fairyhouse bumper on his debut last November and his saddle slipped on his next start while bumper winner Vintage Prosseco looked promising when runner-up on his hurdling bow but disappointed later. Malton Groove is a full-brother to Grand National winner Minella Times so is one for the future.
