Lucinda Russell has her string in good shape and Spirit Calling can go well with top weight here but preference is for Baawrah, while Drumnavaddy Lough should also show up well. A Martin Todhunter inmate, Baawrah gave 9lb to but finished behind Drumnavaddy Lough at Hexham last time, his first start for 10 months. His trainer has given him five weeks and more to recover from that run and he should have benefited plenty from it. He is now 15lb better off with that other rival and so should be good enough to finish in front of him, and can take the prize. Spirit Calling has conditions and trip to suit but was comfortably beaten from this mark at Carlisle recently. Nevertheless it is not a hot contest and with his yard going well he can grab some more money here. Prince Balthasar would be interesting if the market speaks in his favour but strictly on form he needs to find plenty, while trip and ground suit Jendali Lad on whom Richard Guest applies first time cheek pieces, so again, watch the market. However, Baawrah looks likely to come on for his reappearance and can come good here.
