In depth

Verdict

Frosty Run, Arctic Lagoon and Not Today Sir are three appropriately named runners for this handicap chase and Frosty Run is taken to win at a nice price. The Irish raider Not Today Sir is very consistent and has been running with success in his native country but ventured across the Irish Sea to win here last month. It was only a workmanlike success however and despite Mick Fitzgerald making the long journey North to take the ride, he is opposed. Arctic Lagoon won twice at Hexham earlier in the year and was gambled on to do so again last time but could finish only third. That was a reasonable performance and this is not a strong race. Frosty Run is an interesting contender here. He hasn't run since August and is making his chasing bow. However, he won in game fashion at Huntingdon over hurdles on his latest start where the field finished well strung out, is lightly raced and open to further improvement. The stable had a winner on Boxing Day and Frosty Run is taken to lead them home.
