Verdict

MR SHELBY won over 6f at Ayr last time but was placed in both outings over course and distance back in May. An apprentice’s allowance negates a 3lb rise for his recent success and another bold bid is expected. The veteran Bronze Beau had been threatening to end a barren spell before struggling in soft going at Nottingham while Jeffrey Harris finished in front of Corton Lass and Lady Joanna Vassa earlier and a tongue-tie is fitted today having disappointed here last time. Star Cracker saves his best for Newcastle nowadays while the unexposed Dulcina hasn’t raced since 2017 and debuts for a new yard.
