In depth

Verdict

KNIGHT IN PURPLE, runner-up in the 2011 Swinton Hurdle, is the best horse on show here but tends to reserve his best for later in the season. However, he didn't run too badly last time and he'll love the predicted better ground. With Peter Carberry's useful claim taken into account, he looks acceptably treated and is taken to return to winning ways somewhat earlier than normal. Dontpaytheferryman romped away with a seller here last time but he's far better than that level and it would be no surprise to see him go well once again. His last two wins have both come at this track. Hi Dancer returned to form last time and cannot be ruled out, whilst Hunters Belt and Baaher are not to be discounted either in receipt of weight from all rivals.
