This race, run in honour of Borderlescott, has attracted a smart field including Robin Bastiman's wonderful veteran who has won 14 races. He ran well for much of last season but didn't win and he invariably needs his first run. Another cracking old-timer, Tangerine Trees, won this last year on his reappearance by a neck from today's rival Kingsgate Choice and though unlikely to ever repeat his famous Prix De L'Abbaye victory of 2011 should win more races this campaign. The latter has the advantage of a recent run and improved throughout last year and though he was a couple of lengths behind Heeraat at Newbury he's 7lb better off and can take revenge as the winner has a Group 3 penalty. MORAWIJ is also penalised but probably has more scope than any of these. He's won two Listed races and scored on his debut so the lack of an outing may not be too much of a problem and he gets the nod. Smoothtalkinrascal didn't enjoy the heavy conditions on his reappearance at the Curragh though he generally likes a bit of cut in the ground.
