        Verdict

        Ravenhoe is having his 24th start of the year but has won four times, including once here when only a pound lower. This is his level and he shouldn’t be far away as he is tough as old boots. Ascot Week broke his duck at Newcastle last month and his stable remain in fine form – there may be more come in a first-time visor. MARKHAN has been in good form in Ireland recently but remains well treated. Gordon Elliott’s raider can defy top weight ahead of Lotara, who has been getting steadily closer but is now 0-16 on Turf.
