Verdict

A chance is taken on SERGEANT at the likely odds. He's travelled a long way from Wiltshire from this and the former Germany-based Flat winner came in for strong support on his hurdling debut at Leicester but lost a shoe. Breguet Boy scored at Hamilton in September and on his hurdling bow over this track and trip last month where he had to battle hard. But he has a penalty to carry as does Jorgie, a winner at Perth in September who has been narrowly beaten on the Fibresand at Southwell subsequently. Machios won on Polytrack at Lingfield during the summer for Andrew Balding while Fiveandtwenty won three times for Mark Johnston including on this track.
