Verdict

Principally known for his exploits on the Flat, Kevin Ryan has a decent strike rate under this code and BEYOND THE CLOUDS made a winning start over track and trip last month. He can defy a penalty with normal progress and is just preferred to Captain Woodie. The latter also won on his debut when successful at Taunton in December while Amateur, Ballyvic Boru and Wemyss Point all finished second on their latest starts with the former narrowly beaten at Lingfield and making most appeal of that trio.
