The shortlist contains Angaric, Quaker Boy and Feeling Irie, with the vote going to the last-named horse. Angaric's fair second to Mulligan's Gold makes his rating competitive today, we feel. Beowulf is closely weighted with him based on that form. Sgt Schultz has left the impression he is capable of better and Robert Winston is an interesting booking. Obscene seemed to show a lot of improvement at Kempton last time and, if building on that on Turf, would be a danger to all. Quaker Boy has shown enough over shorter than today's trip to suggest he has to be considered over a distance more in keeping with his pedigree. Feeling Irie won his maiden over course and distance last year and two of three subsequent disappointing starts came on soft going, so do not rule him out, but it would be hard to build a strong case for the others. Once again, though, the overall vote goes to Feeling Irie.
