This looks to be a virtual match between Eton and Platinum Charmer, with preference for the latter. The selection has been plying his trade to some effect in similar company on the all-weather this winter and is at least as good on turf so a reproduction of recent efforts should suffice. Karl Burke's gelding is taken to make the most of the weight that he receives from Eton. The David Nicholls-trained gelding is not the most consistent of horses and was beaten a long way out at Pontefract last time. Minstrel Hall makes his first appearance on the level for some time and has to be respected on the evidence of his form over hurdles of late. Similar comments apply to Iranoo, who has the assistance of Paul Hanagan. Astral Prince has shown little worthwhile form in recent years and is easily discounted in a race that is taken to go to Platinum Charmer.
