In depth

Verdict

BARBECUE EDDIE has had his last 18 starts on this track and has done brilliantly. He was in superb form at this time a year ago, winning three races in quick succession including a Grade 2 and invariably goes well fresh so has to be the selection. Mufarrh was 2l behind him in that latter race and is 5lb better off so there should be very little between them here. Surfer finished in front of the pair of them in the Godolphin Mile on World Cup night but like Mufarrh he'll be lining up for bigger things later and may not be quite as straight as the selection. Encipher, an easy winner at Jebel Ali last month, was well beaten in Listed company at Abu Dhabi last time when Derbaas did very well to finish runner-up.
