In depth
Verdict
Mike De Kock perseveres with Tawakul despite seeing him well beaten when favourite for similar races. He's difficult to support until showing something on the track and was a long way behind Midnight Moon when they were unplaced here a fortnight ago. Mandilion had only shown moderate form in the French Provinces but made a reasonable start for his new trainer at Jebel Ali last month. NABAH finished runner-up in an Ascot maiden for Clive Brittain and started favourite in a similar race to this over the C&D last month but was impeded early - he can gain compensation. Cody Maverick has one decent run to his credit and has competed at a higher level but though Grand Duchy has been consistent he's now gone 14 races without winning. Fa'Iz was placed in the UK for Saeed Bin Suroor and has shown a similar level of form in two runs since arriving here while the beautifully-bred Darbandikhan put a couple of poor runs on this track behind him with a much better effort at Jebel Ali.
