        In depth

        Verdict

        The veteran Star Empire has had his last dozen races here since arriving from South Africa and he'll be heading for the Dubai Gold Cup again later. This is too short for him though he did manage to finish third a year ago. Tenor landed a Listed contest at Sandown in September and John Ryan will have him in good shape for his Meydan debut but this can go to HAAFAGUINEA. He came here a year ago and was narrowly beaten in two strong handicaps and doesn't look badly treated. Mr Pommeroy, placed in a Group 3 at Chantilly, is an interesting entry while Elleval won here in February though just needed his opening run earlier. Without Fear ran moderately here last year and is hardly likely to improve at the age of seven but Sennockian Star is trying something new and it wouldn't be a shock if he ran well as he attempts his tenth victory on his fortieth start.
