In depth

Verdict

Salem bin Ghadayer saddled three winners at Jebel Ali on Friday with Meshakel finishing runner-up to stable companion Hurry Up. Close-up third came Nibraas, who completely missed the break but ran on strongly over that stiff 6f and can reverse the form over the extra. The former's yard also send out Rare Ninja, who was only beaten a short-head on his debut here in November but has failed to build on that promise. Uncle Hamed also made a bright start but disappointed next time and Pat Dobbs chooses to ride the stable's Jallab but a chance is taken with the newcomer EFFECTIF. A half-brother to a 7f all-weather winner and out of a smart mare over that trip, he and Yurman are Mike De Kock's first runners here this campaign and he'll be keen to get off to a good start. The Godolphin entry Nation's History has a very similar pedigree and has to be kept on the right side.
