        In depth

        Verdict

        Desert Force completed a double over 7f here in December and didn't appreciate dropping back in trip last month. This will be his first start at a mile but his two victories were completed in impressive fashion. CONFRONTATION (NAP), a regular winner in the USA, made a successful start after a long break in this race a year ago. His only subsequent run came over 6f in the Golden Shaheen where he was by no means disgraced. He obviously goes well fresh and can complete a race double. Surfer won a Group 2 here two years ago but has had very little racing since and may just need the run while Lindo Amor disappointed last time after making a promising debut in a Group 2 earlier. North America deserves a crack at this grade after completing a hat-trick when beating today's rival Heavy Metal last month though both will need to find extra.
