In depth

Verdict

Ottoman Empire took a few races to warm up here a year ago but ended the campaign with an impressive course and distance victory. The 2011 Lincoln winner Sweet Lightning doesn't have the greatest all-weather profile but had a sighter at Wolverhampton last month. Mike De Kock will get the best out of EL ESTRUENDOSO, who ran very well on his final start here in February. He'll have been prepared for this year's Carnival and can make a successful start. Stablemate Specific Gravity, who was placed here three times in the same month, should also go well. Transparent was regarded as Group class on Dirt in the USA and hasn't been handed a high rating for his handicap debut and Godolphin also have the tough handicapper Clon Brulee entered though he's now on his highest ever mark. Busker won twice here a year ago and his last run should be ignored as he was never put in the race but stayed on well.
