              Verdict

              Earl Of Carrick deserved his success in a maiden here a fortnight ago having performed with credit on his two previous starts. He was staying on nicely behind today's rivals Blue Tiger's Eye and Ektibaas earlier and is progressing fast enough to take his revenge on that pair. However, COOL WIND was beaten just over a length in that maiden in receipt of 4lb and can reverse the form on today's revised terms, especially as he was having his first start since November and only faded close home after leading 2f out. He's given the nod as Storm Belt has done better away from this track though he hasn't had much experience of the surface and may be capable of better. Mutual Force is one to keep an eye on with his trainer and young jockey in excellent form at present.
