In depth

Verdict

HERITIER was having just his second start over fences, and his first in this country, when winning by 16 lengths here last week so a 7lb penalty doesn’t look enough to prevent a quick double. Massini Man has now finished runner-up in his last three starts over fences and may have to finish second fiddle again. Bempton Cliffs is 0-10 over hurdles and didn’t make a bad chasing debut at Worcester but Global Effect has shown little to date and makes his chasing bow.
