A poor event in which Scarborough Fair can be anticipated to confirm superiority over Gunner Dream. Reputedly described by Sir Robert Ogden as the worst horse in his ownership, his success has been down to fledgling trainer Richard Guest and if anything the horse has been put up as an exhibition of the trainers competence en route to potentially better bloodstock. There is a slight question mark about the ground but he did it well enough at Hexham to suggest there was more to come and with Larry McGrath taking off 5lb - he comes here off a racing weight. Gunner Dream was well held on that day and it looks difficult to suggest a reverse off these terms. Rosie Redman is the more livelier danger if she reproduces her Hexham run. She was going well before hitting the second-last and the small field size should suit her. First Officer needs to brush up on the fencing while All But is thought to be racing elsewhere. At short odds Scarborough Fair is selected with Rosie Redman for the forecast.
