Verdict

Cape Helles won a Carlisle maiden on the Flat and is a half-brother to a winning jumper. Donald McCain’s charge should be winning soon over hurdles but EXCITING NEWS, who has joined Dan Skelton, is also an interesting recruit and gets the nod. Just Another One didn’t make his racecourse debut until last month but has recorded seconds at Nottingham and Ffos Las while The Churchill Lad was a very easy winner at Cartmel last month having won over 2m at Newcastle 10 days earlier and shouldn’t be underestimated, despite his penalty.
