Calgary Bay, Wilhewispa and Canny Bay look the three to concentrate on in this novices' hurdle and the vote is given to Calgary Bay. The selection looked like a horse to stay on the right side of when chasing home Keki Buku at Uttoxeter last time. He ran a little green that day so there should be more to come and with the ground not a problem for him, he should prove tough to beat on his hurdling bow. Wilhewispa does have the benefit of experience in this sphere and he ran well when second behind Scots Dragoon at Huntingdon when last seen out. He should be the one to profit if the selection fails to fire on his hurdling bow. Canny Bay finished second behind Charlie Crab in a bumper last time, but he had the run of the race that day and more will be required if he is to score on his hurdling debut. Craic is an interesting newcomer from a top yard so has to be noted in the market, but Calgary Bay looks a classy type and he can get his head in front.
