In depth

Verdict

A tricky one for punters with plenty of in-an-out performers and a number of seasonal debutants to peruse. Grate Deel was tipped up by this column last time out and duly obliged by 22 lengths. Today is a much more difficult proposition for the course and distance winner but he couldn't be in better form. Mitcheldean is respected from the Pitman stable. The stable are having plenty of near misses at the moment but more rain would be welcomed by his backers. L'Idefix is difficult to assess. He has bits of form that put him in with a major chance here but he is prone to the odd jumping error. The TEAMtalk selection is Skillwise. Tim Easterby's charge was in rude health last season before losing his way come the back end of the season. The handicapper hasn't really done him too many favours but he is the quality horse in the field and with the trainer in form, he should go well here.
