Verdict

The day’s feature has attracted a decent line-up and all would have some sort of chance, though Siannes Star is having a first run in quite a while and Defi D'oudairies is having a first start in this country on going that will be faster than ideal. Pink Eyed Pedro ran well in the Summer Plate here last year and is now 16lb lower in the weights. STATUARIO remains winless over fences but has found some form again lately and a Peter Bowen runner has won this four times in the last eight years. He gets a tentative vote as Costly Diamond will have to defy another career-high mark if he is to complete the hat-trick. Fire Away showed commendable courage to collar Seddon at Cartmel but may be better going left-handed. Corran Cross beat Mahler's Promise at Haydock in April but there shouldn’t be much between them on today’s terms.
