Jam Session has placed in two of his four starts over hurdles and arrives fit from the Flat having won at Newmarket and Goodwood this year. He could be well handicapped but the returning Imada should not be underestimated despite having recorded both victories at Ayr so far. RENWICK only won a maiden at Hereford but did so with the minimum of fuss. He is improving at a rate of knots and can make a winning start in handicaps. Steel Wave and Chase End Charlie probably face a stiff task against less-exposed rivals.
Steel Wave (IRE) 33-1 (10-4) Tracked leaders, ridden 3 out, weakened next, 7th of 11, 35 3/4l behind Whatmore (11-3) at Bangor 2m 4f hcp (2) gs in Nov.
Imada (IRE) 5-2 (11-7) Soon tracked leaders, ridden and outpaced after 2 out, kept on run-in to take 2nd place, no chance with winner, 2nd of 6, 3l behind Our Lucas (10-1) at Ayr 2m hcp (4) sft in Mar.
Chase End Charlie (IRE) 20-1 (11-8) Chased leaders, raced freely, ridden before 2 out, 4th and no impression before last, 4th of 14, 15l behind Samson's Reach (10-12) at Hereford 2m 6f hcp (4) gd in Nov.
Renwick (IRE) 4-6fav (11-2) Made most, pushed along and clear approaching last, ran on (2nd hurdle after the winning post omitted), won at Hereford 2m 4f mdn (4) gd in Nov beating Shamilan (11-2) by 6l, 8 ran.
