Matorico opened his account over hurdles with a win at Huntingdon last month under Richard Johnson. Barry Geraghty takes up his retained duties on Jonjo O'Neill's charge today but Johnson may still come out best back on board DUKE DES CHAMPS. The latter was no match for the winner when runner-up at Exeter last time but will be sharper for the run and can take advantage of the weight concession from Matorico. Both Stout Cortez and Bold Prince Rupert failed to complete their respective hurdling debuts and make no appeal.
